Description

  • Ceramic
of elegant well-proportioned ovoid form, the rounded shoulders and tapering body surmounted by a waisted neck and wide flared galleried rim, applied overall with a transparent glaze tinged with light blue, the recessed base also lightly glazed, the footring left in the rough revealing the pale buff body 

Provenance

Acquired in Hong Kong, November 1986.

Condition

An approximately 4mm restored rim chip, with associated over-spray to the rim and neck. Evidence of infill to numerous small chips to the foot ring. Several characteristic firing imperfections, including iron-spots and glaze inclusions. Very faint fritting to the mouth rim.
