Not viewed out of the frame. Original canvas. The canvas appears sound. There are a number of very small scattered pinholes across the canvas, only visible upon very close inspection, and most likely related to the artist's method of squaring up the canvas. There is a small scratch in the dark green pigment in the lower left quadrant. There are two extremely minor spots of craquelure apparent above the oval form on the right, to the dark green pigments at the left and right, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are one or two spots of very light surface dirt. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition, with strong and vibrant colours throughout. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a composite gilt frame with linen slip.
