Catalogue Note

The present work comes from a series of white shelf works de Waal has been making recently using only white and cream vessels with gilded dishes, all of which refer in their titles to Morandi in some way. In this instance, Via Fondazza was a street in Bologna which Morandi painted repeatedly throughout his life.
