Condition

Original canvas. There are some light pushes from the stretcher bars along each of the four edges. There is a small knock with associated paint loss in the lower right corner of the work. On extremely close examination it is possible to see two further very small losses in the lower left corner. Traces of surface dirt are visible in scattered areas across the composition, including but not limited, to a drip that runs parallel to the lower right vertical edge, some spots in the centre of the composition and some further marks towards the corners. There is a small scuff in the lower left corner. With the exception of the above the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some small spots of florescence at the lower left vertical edge, the middle of the upper edge and in the upper right eagle logo. These appear to be consistent with sensitively executed retouching. The work is presented in a painted tray frame.
