Condition

There is minor rubbing along the edges of the painting. A small scuff is visible above the woman's head and small surface irregulaties throughout. This painting is in good condition overall, as viewed.

Catalogue Note

Altaf was an activist and through his paintings chose to show the suffering in society, often highlighting social causes including exhibiting a group of works outside the Union Carbide factory in 1985 on the anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy. It was at this time Altaf also began his Hospital series.
