Description
- jade
finely worked in the form of a lotus blossom, the everted sides rising from a slightly recessed base, formed from two overlapping rows of pointy petals radiating around a central pod, the lotus pod naturalistically rendered with an uneven surface and bulging seeds, the smoothly polished stone of a pale celadon colour with russet veins and a small patch of calcification to the tip of one petal
Condition
The bowl is generally in good condition. There is a natural patch of darker green calcification to the tip of the petals in one place, original to the piece and consistent stylistically with the period.
