Condition
The canvas has an old glue lining which is firm and stable. The paint surface is in very good condition overall, particularly for a painting of this size. It is well preserved with good thick impasto, lovely coloration and good detail. There is a small surface scratch in the background lower left and some craquelure visible in the darks of the leaves but these are in no way distracting. Inspection under UV reveals light retouches around the edges, particularly the upper left edge, and scattered cosmetic touches here and there in the flowers.
The painting is presentable and ready to hang in its present state. Offered in a elaborately carved gilt wood frame.
