Catalogue Note
Further variants of the present inkwell, are in the Bode Museum, Berlin, the Ashmolean Museum of Art, Oxford, and the Hermitage, St. Petersburg. Only the latter is inscribed with initials similar to the inscriptions on this cast, which may be maker's or owner's marks.
