Catalogue Note

Although little is known of his life and career, Simon Floquet became a master in the Antwerp guild of St. Luke in 1634/35.  He was a painter of mythological and religious scenes, and he drew influence from the work of his father, Lucas Floquet I, who was the patriarch a dynasty of artists.
