Condition

This picture has an old relining. Overall this picture is in very nice condition with good coloration very nice retention of details in the main elements, with a fresh varnish. UV light reveals some rather generalized retouches in the upper regions of the sky. There are thick passages of retouching applied to the upper fifth of the composition as well as some very small pin dot size retouches in the lower part of the sky. The architecture itself is in very good condition with only a few scattered retouches in the physical architecture as well as a larger area in the lower right corner. The retouches in the upper part of the sky could be redone and applied in a more sensitive manner or the picture could be hung in its current state. In a carved giltwood frame.
