Condition
The canvas has been relined. Overall the picture surface is slightly dirty and the paint is somewhat pressed in the sky. Small retouches are visible under UV in the standing gentleman's face. The horse has a larger area of repaint in its nose and underbelly. Various reinforcements in the craquelure are visible throughout the composition, but these are applied reasonably well. The picture could be hung in its current state, or lightly cleaned with an adjustment to some of the more generally applied retouches. In a carved gilt wood frame.
