Oil on canvas, lined. There is an oil patch on the reverse at the center. The picture surface in generally good condition aside from surface dirt and dust and areas of craquelure, especially around the table. Some thinness in the darks in the background. Some impasto has been flattened by the lining, especially in the flowers. Under UV light, the varnish has been unevenly cleaned. Areas of florescence, probably the old varnish, throughout the background. Retouching throughout the figures hand, costume, face and hat. Some strengthening to the dogs face. Additional cleaning of the varnish through the figures legs and the center lower sector of the carpet, where retouches are visible.
