Oil on canvas, lined. There is a bubble at upper left, and a few additional, more linear, bubbles in the background at left, potentially related to the relining. Surface dirt and dust. Minor frame abrasions at all edges. Scuff to background at upper center. White loss to upper right of figures head. A stable web of craquelure is visible; in some areas this craquelure is beginning to pucker and lift. Under UV light, the majority of the work is covered by a green fluorescing varnish. Scattered dots and dashes of retouching are visible, especially along the lower edge of the subject's costume. Small dots of retouching to the subjects proper left eye.
