Surface dirt and dust. A stable web of craquelure in the white of the figure's robe. Additional craquelure in the foliage and throughout the work. The surface retains some of its impasto. Under UV light, the majority of the work is covered by a green fluorescing varnish. Scattered touches of inpainting visible at the extreme edges. Some minor scattered older areas of retouching visible in the man's proper right foot; a dot in the thigh of the kneeling woman; and a few additional scattered dots.
