Condition

Oil on canvas, lined. The picture surface is flattened, with a stable web of craquelure and a yellowed, dirty varnish. There is a thick layer of surface dirt. Areas of thinness along the bottom edge. There are also small bubbles across the surface, which may be related to the relining. The impasto has been somewhat flattened by the relining. Under UV light, very little is discernible. The thick varnish fluoresces green. Some minor scattered pinpoint spots of retouching in the sky. Some minor lines of retouching to address craquelure are scattered throughout.
