Oil on canvas, with an older lining. The picture surface is in overall good condition aside from some minor surface dirt and a flattened, slightly thinned appearance. Under UV light, there are scattered dots and dashes or retouching scattered across the surface, though especially along the upper edge and in the lower horizon line, around the buildings. A larger area of retouching in the sky near the spire of Santa Maria della Salute.
