Oil on canvas, lined, not framed. The surface is covered by a discolored yellow varnish. There is a stable web of craquelure, some of it somewhat textured, visible over the entire surface. Some remnants of gold paint and other frame abrasions are visible, especially along the upper edge. Under UV light, the majority of the work is covered by a thick varnish that obscures the surface. Some minor dots and dashes of retouching to address the craquelure in the sky and tree at center fluoresce.
