Condition
Oil on canvas, with an old lining. There are retouches in the sitter's forehead and collar that have discolored with time and are visible to the naked eye. The surface is otherwise in overall good condition. Under UV light, there are additional old dashes of retouching in the sitter's hair and the shadows of his face, likely to address craquelure.
