Description

  • silver
  • largest 17.5cm., 6¾in. high
in sizes, engraved with a contempoary coat-of-arms, pierced covers and bases, applied cut-card work

Provenance

The smaller pair of casters in this lot were sold at Christie's, London, 24 May 1989, lot 274. The large caster was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 28 October 1992, lot 341.

Condition

Marked on bodies and covers, some denting a little splits around pierced work, one with copper liner in cover and small repairs to cover, other small example with probably reinforcing plate over copper liner of cover, overall good marks and very nice colour
