The three panels centering cabochon black opals measuring approximately 13.3 by 12.3 by 6.8 mm, 12.4 by 11.0 by 6.2 mm and 12.5 by 10.5 by 6.7 mm, accented by old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 24.00 carats, length 7½ inches; the mounting circa 1930.

Condition

In good overall condition with some minor scratching and wear to the mounting, not evident when worn. The clasp is fitted with a safety latch. The three translucent to semi-translucent black opals show a strong, attractive play of color presenting a spectrum of colors, with greens and blues predominating. The center opal is opaque. Minor crazing visible under magnification, with additional crazing to the underside. The diamonds range from approximately G-I color, predominantly VS-SI clarity with a few I clarity examples. The mounting dated circa 1930, with a French assay mark on the clasp. Some minor evidence of alteration to the piece surrounding the central element and only noticeable on close imspection. Length approximately 7 1/2 inches. Please note that the black opals are later added.
