Centering an emerald-cut sapphire weighing 12.24 carats, framed by baguette and trapeze-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.15 carats, size 6, stamped 12.24, with maker's mark; circa 1979. With signed box.

Condition

In very good condition. The sapphire is a richly saturated, deep very slightly violetish blue and very lightly included. The facet junctions exhibit minor to moderate abrasions and one moderately sized chip. The girdle also exhibits minor to moderate chipping which is only evident under magnification. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. The exterior of the shank exhibits significant denting to the bottom and the interior is fitted with a ring guard. The approximate diamond weight was derived from a 2011 appraisal performed by Harry Winston. The receipt from Harry Winston, dated 1979, states the ring to be inventory # 42860.Accompanied by GIA report no. 2135275945 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 66546 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
