________________________________
Huaigu, also called pin’an buckle and eyes of luohans, is a traditional form of jadeite in a circular shape with a perforation in the center. It is believed that this form bears similarity to the ancient ritual object bi﹙璧﹚, granting its owner blessings from heaven. The contour of huaigu’s outer circle symbolizes the infinite sky while the inner symbolizes peace of mind. Its simplistic design is the perfect representation of completeness and wholeness, which is in line with the Chinese teachings regarding constant equilibrium. Its shape is also likened to that of an ancient coin, which makes it a symbol of great wealth. This jadeite huaigu of impressive size and thickness, combined with various auspicious meanings, is representative of the finest jadeite jewellery.
