The rectangular box-shaped handbag set throughout with oval pink sapphires together weighing 777.50 carats, highlighted by a floral motif and clasp set with circular-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 6.00 carats, mounted in 18 karat pink gold, accompanied by a link-chain.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the pink sapphires are natural, with indications of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the pink sapphires are of medium purplish pink colour, eye clean and lively. Upon 10x loupe, there are natural crystal and fingerprint inclusions, and some stones have surface chips or openings but not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds are about J to M colours, VS to SI clarity. Condition: Karat pink gold mount, with signs of wear to the metal, overall in good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Gübelin report numbered 15067141, dated 27 June 2015, stating that the pink sapphires are natural, a random selection in excess of 50% showed indications of heating.
