Provenance

Their sale, Sotheby's London, 22nd February 1990, lot 447

Condition

The sheet has been adhered at each of the four corners to a backing card. The sheet appears sound. The sheet has pinholes at both the upper corners and at the lower right corner, only visible when viewed unframed, which appears consistent with the artist's working method. There is some slight staining to the sheet, only visible when viewed out of the frame, most likely as a result of exposure to light. There are one or two spots of extremely light surface dirt. Some of the lighter pigments appear to have faded slightly. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. The work is window-mounted in an acidic mount, and presented in a simple wooden frame, held under glass.
