Description
- Geoffrey Clarke, R.A.
- Landscape Reinvestigation: Blueprint II
- stamped with artist's monogram, dated 71, numbered 1/6 and inscribed 11.4
- aluminium
- height: 121.5cm.; 47¾in.
Provenance
Redfern Gallery, London, where acquired by the present owner in 1972
Condition
The elements of the sculpture appear sound. The surface of the aluminium is increasingly rough towards the base of the work, thought to be inkeeping with the artist's working method. There is some very slight rubbing to the protruding edges of the work. There are some scattered casting imperfections across the surface of the work. There is some light scratching to the surface in places. There is some staining and surface dirt consistent with the work's exhibition outside, including two spots of orange towards the bottom of the left vertical side of the work. The sculpture would benefit from a light clean.
