Their sale, Sotheby's London, 15th July 1998, lot 69
Philip Mould, London, where acquired by the present owner

Condition

The work is taped onto a supporting sheet at the upper corners and it is very slightly cockled. There is a vertical crease down the centre of the composition and when viewed out of the mount it is possible to see a small crease in the upper left and lower right corners with a further scuff at the right of the lower horizontal edge. There is some evidence of time staining and fading to the pigments with some further spots of foxing and light surface dirt. With the exception of the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is presented in a hand washed window mount and an ornate gilt frame, held behind glass.
