Condition

The sculpture appears to be stable and the nails are securely attached. There are some small areas of oxidation on some of the nail heads. Traces of surface dirt are also evident in the recessed areas. There are some small knocks, losses and cracks in the wooden supporting block including but not limited to two horizontal knocks in the upper right corner, a split in the upper left corner, and further small knocks with associated losses in the lower corners. With the exception of the above the work appears to be in very good condition. The second sculpture appears to be stable and the nails are securely attached. There is a minor knock to the back edge of the sculpture and some light surface dirt across the piece, particularly in the recessed areas around the nails. Two of the sides of the supporting wooden block have been painted grey, there is evidence of some paint on the remaining two sides although they are largely bare wood. This appears to be in keeping with the artist's working method. With the exception of the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
