Condition
Original canvas. The canvas is slightly loose on its stretcher and it undulates in the lower right corner. There is evidence of pushes from the stretcher bars, particularly along the lower edge, and this has resulted in some paint cracking. There are several other small pushes in the canvas, including but not limited to, two at the upper centre of the canvas, one at the middle of the left vertical edge and another in the black pigment at the centre of the composition. There are areas of paint cracking associated with these pushes and also further instances scattered across the work. These have resulted in some paint lifting in localised areas including at the centre of the left vertical edge. There is evidence of some rubbing and surface dirt along the edges of the canvas with further small scuffs. Scattered staining is also present particularly in the lower half of the composition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of florescence or retouching.
The work is unframed.
