Condition
Not viewed out of the frame. The board appears sound. There are some lines of craquelure, particularly to the top half of the work. There is a tiny spot of lifting in the grey pigments above the centre of the lower edge. Along the extreme bottom edge there are lines of cracking and a few small flecks of loss. The bottom right corner appears to have sustained a minor knock. There are further minor spots of cracking and loss to the extreme upper edge. There is some very light rubbing and one small loss to the the protruding edges of the impasto. There appears to be a small pinhole in the upper right corner, with associated loss. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals some scattered spots of retouching around the edges of the work, with several further spots in the gray area towards the upper horizontal edge and to the top of the black bottle.
The work is float-mounted and housed in a simple painted wooden tray frame, housed under glass.
