Not viewed out of the frame. Oil on tin, with a white ground. The tin appears to be stable. There is minor surface dirt and studio detritus, predominantly to the right of the composition. There appears to be a slight scratch to the upper centre of the composition in the sky, and there also appear to be very slight losses in the upper left corner. There also appear to be some very slight losses to the white ground around the extreme edges of the work.The edges of the tin plate are rough, which appears to be inkeeping with the artist's materials. The oil paint is strong and vibrant, and subject to the above, the work appears to be in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is float-mounted in the artist's ornate painted plaster and wood frame, glazed, with a gold leaf and wood mount.
