This fun item was removed from The Ivy restaurant and is being sold as a decorative object. The brass is tarnished and worn - particularly to the arm from which the sign hangs - and would benefit from a clean/polish. The cap of the tube casing (visible in the catalogue photograph) is bent out of shape and loose. The sign is fitted for electricity but will need the attention of a qualified electrician before it can be brought back to working order. Old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Sotheby's recommend gallery inspection.
