oak and leather upholstered banquette

Condition

This item - part of MJ Long's 1990 refurbishment - was removed from the Ivy restaurant where it was fixed to the restaurant floor and is in two sections as a result; the back rest and the banquette on a plinth base. The piece will need restoration work before it can be installed or placed. It displays typical signs of wear and tear after 25 years of use in one of London's busiest restaurants. The surface is dirty, with marks and scratches - particularly to the base where it has scuff marks - and would benefit from a clean/polish. The upholstery is worn. Sotheby's recommend gallery inspection.
