Condition
The original board appears to be stable. On extremely close examination is it possible to see some horizontal lines running across the composition, which appear to correspond to the grain of the wooden board. There are some scratches to the paint surface, predominately at the lower half of the painting and several small areas where the surface impasto has been flatten. This appears to be the result of the artist's working method. There are some very small spots of paint loss across the composition along with traces of surface dirt and studio detritus. With the exception of the above the work appears to be in good condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals some fine lines of florescence at the lower centre of the composition, consistent with the fore mentioned small area of loss and the vertical scratches in the paint surface.
The painting is presented in a black frame.
