Not viewed out of the frame.The board is slightly damaged at the bottom right edge, with a crack in the surface of the paint and possible paint loss. There is some very minor paint loss to the extreme edges of the board, most probably due to frame abrasion. There is one area of possible paint loss, in the upper middle area between the two darker shapes above the fish, which may be inkeeping with the artist's working method given the scoring of the board by the artist. There is some light surface dirt and studio detritus. Subject to the above, the oil paint appears to be strong and stable, and the work appears in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is framed and glazed, housed in a painted wooden frame.
