Condition

The sheet is taped onto a supporting board with two tabs at the upper edge. The sheet is cockled and when viewed out of the mount it is possible to see some discolouration to the paper and fading to the pigments. This may have been caused by exposure to ultra-violet light. There appear to be some very small areas of paint lose in the thicker areas of gouache including but not limited to the white pigments in the sky, harbour and to the right of the composition. Traces of lights surface dirt are visible scattered across the composition. Subject to the above the work appears to be in good condition. The work is presented in a painted book mount and silver frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
