Original canvas. There is surface dirt and varnish discolouration to the work, and it would benefit from a light clean. There is a tiny fleck of minor loss in the extreme top right corner and a further in the bottom left corner, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is a fine line of vertical craquelure to the top right hand side of the composition just encroaching into the roof of the far right cottage, and further line of paint cracking to the pale green pigment of the grass, with some further light reticulation apparent to the grey hills above the central farmhouse. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. Housed in a thick painted wooden frame.
