Un des 2 exemplaires de tête sur Japon impérial, d'un tirage limité à 150 exemplaires.
Magnifique exemplaire abondamment enrichi de :
- 3, 4, 5 ou 6 états supplémentaires des eaux-fortes (en noir, en bistre et en couleur, sur Chine ou sur Japon),
- 12 aquarelles originales, dont trois comportent au verso un dessin au crayon.
May den Engelsen, d'origine hollandaise, était la compagne de Frans de Geetere. Ce dernier est à l'origine de "cette édition, imprimée, pour le texte, chez un artisan de la rue de Glacière, en 1927" (Pia).
