Dépliant (318 x 1270) formé de 3 feuilles pliées de divers formats (318 x 480, 318 x 483 et 318 x 311 mm) fixées au dos. Complet du fragile étui en rhodoïde.
Etui plié avec petits manques ; papier légèrement jauni, couleurs érodées aux pliures.
Premier tirage. Edition à 238 exemplaires, celui-ci un des 200 exemplaires sur Auvergne Richard de Bas (n° 6), décorés au pochoir par Albert Jon d'après la composition originale de Fernard Léger.
Grande composition en couleurs de Fernand Léger sur le poème de son ami Paul Eluard, disparu peu auparavant. Cette célèbre ode à la Liberté fut publiée clandestinement dans Poésie et Vérité pendant l'occupation.
Envoi autographe signé de l'artiste : "A Mlle Antoinette Schulte. F. Léger". Il s'agit de la peintre Antoinette Schulte (1897-1981).
La même année, Seghers réalisa un second tirage à 2000 exemplaires imprimés en sérigraphie à Marseille, dans un format plus petit.
