Catalogue Note

PRESENTATION COPY OF GREENAWAY'S "RAREST ALMANACK" (Meacham)

The composer and pianist Ethel Boyce (1863-1936) had met Greenaway's brother John (A.J.) Greenaway whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music. It is likely that the watercolour portrait of a lady in this copy was intended as her likeness.
