Catalogue Note
WITH A SIGNED AUTOGRAPH QUOTATION FROM YEATS' MOST FAMOUS POEM, in a variant version. Yeats appear to recall the poem from memory here, with a correction in the first line:
"I will arise & go now ['and go to Innisfree' crossed out] for always night & day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore
As I stand on the roadway or on the pavement gray
I hear it in the deep hearts core.
W.B.Yeats
July 11 1905"
Stories of Red Hanrahan contains the first appearance of the author's poem, later known as "The Song of the Wandering Aengus", here as "Hanrahan's Vision".
