Condition

This work has been restored. The original patina to the paint layer is still visible. It is clearly un-abraded and unusually well preserved. There are a few small retouches in the garland of flowers in the lower left, otherwise the original painting is almost completely unretouched. However, the work was lined since it was painted, and it was expanded slightly during that process. The tacking edges can be seen on all four sides of the picture, each measuring about 1 inch. The restoration to these is very amateurish. Ideally, a frame covering the non-original areas of paint would be chosen and some of the small fame abrasions around the edges retouched.
