Condition
This oil on canvas board has been mounted onto another piece of board, probably by the artist. The second piece of board is slightly curved from left to right, but this can easily be corrected in the frame. The paint layer is in very good condition. There are small losses on the bottom left edge and in the lower left corner. The upper right and upper left corners show small damages, and there are a couple of spots above the figures head. Under ultraviolet light, there are two or three small retouches visible on the left side of the torso, but the work is otherwise in beautiful state. A small amount of restoration would bring the picture back to excellent condition. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
