Catalogue Note

Comparative Literature:
G. Morazzoni, Il Mobile Veneziano del’700, Milan, 1958, Tav. CCXX.

This pair of seated Moors are extremely rare due to their size and unusual pose and very few examples of this type are recorded. Morazzoni, op. cit., Tav. CCXX., illustrates a related pair of kneeling moors formerly in the Giuseppe Gatti-Casazza Collection.
