of elaborate pear form with bird-mask spout and vegetal handle, each side colourfully painted with a vignette of exotic birds in a farm landscape, the later shallow domed cover painted with flower sprays, 

Condition

The pot: The top terminal of the handle with a hairline crack around the whole circumference. over-firing and discolouration. The cover later.

Catalogue Note

While the basic form is well-known, this very elaborate version is rare; for a 'stampino' example of around 1750, see L. Ginori Lisci, La Porcellana di Doccia, 1963, colour plate XX. The cover here is from a later, simplified version of the same form, of around 1770.
