Catalogue Note

The nimbate Zaman Shah Durrani (1770-1844) ruler of Afghanistan, ca. 1793 -1800, wearing an orange waistcoat, seated on a gold jeweled throne under a gold parasol.  He wears three aigrettes in his turban.  His two princes attend left and right.  A third young attendant waves a white silk fabric as symbol of royal authority.
