Condition
Fair and stable overall condition. Abrasions to pigment in the background throughout are clearly visible in catalog illustration. With four pronounced cracks to pigment at lower left, middle left, upper left and upper right background. Some losses to pigment on yellow robes of the kind at lower center also visible in catalog illustration. The yellows and oranges are lighter in reality. This lot is exhibited in a temporary frame.

Catalogue Note
In continuous narration: Shiva and Parvati bless a bowing king who is dressed as a rishi or holy man. Shiva with wild abandon, his drum raised high, dances to his music. The rishi adjusts a garland of lotus blossoms around the neck of a stately calm Shiva sitting cross-legged meditating in yogic posture next to Parvati on a tiger skin. The king seen earlier leaving his palace with offerings - accompanied by asuras.
