Catalogue Note

A nayika sits on the terrace of a palace smoking a huqqah and attended by handmaidens. Speaking to her confidante she waits for the return of her beloved.  Within a white marble palace complex, a river in the distance, the peaks of the mountains in the background. The painting likely produced in a workshop associated with the artist Sajnu of Mandi.
