Condition
Fair and stable overall condition. The painting is missing its folio border. Abrasions and wear to extremities as visible in catalog illustration. A vertical tear on the lower right going through the supine ladies has been repaired with backing paper. Associated loss to the image, particularly the orange skirt of the lady at the center has been filled in. Another vertical tear on the lower left corner going through the two standing egrets has been repaired with backing paper on verso. A few abrasions to pigment in the tree leaves on lower left and upper right are clearly visible in catalog illustration. A few pinholes and small losses on the upper left quadrant of the image are masked with backing paper on verso. A few other minor abrasions throughout visible in catalog illustration. Exhibited in a temporary frame.
