Catalogue Note
Shiva pictured here seated on his tiger skin, playing his damaru (kettledrum) and engaged in the making of pralaya (the cycle of dissolution from which creation springs anew) with the bodies of mortals, demons, birds and animals spinning around him.
The two other illustrations in this lot are from a Rasikyapriya series and depict pairs of lovers in the guise of Radha and Krishna.
