Condition
Very good overall condition. Slight abrasions to red folio border above and a spot below as visible in catalog illustration. Some abrasions to pigment in the area of the blue sky with possible sports of infilling. The rest of the illustration is in extremely good condition. The reds are slightly deeper in reality. Exhibited in a temporary frame.

Raja Ajit Singh in darbar looking at a scribe ceremonially holding a manuscript page, another page on a small table in front of him. Seated and standing formally on a white terrace an array of courtiers look on. In the foreground a painter presents a red bordered miniature painting to a calligrapher holding it carefully by its edges.
Inscriptions on the verso identify the principal characters pictured in the illustration including Princes Fateh Singh, and Sabha Singh, Diwan Raja Ram Junagariya, noblemen Saranchak Sen, Gulab Kanojiya and Bhagwan Dass, Priest Pahar Singh and the artist Kesari.
